Episode 6: Experiencing Life with the Bears of Katmai
I had felt like I was in a bit of a "photo funk" for the last few weeks. You know, those weeks where you just aren't inspired or motivated by your images. But if anything was going to knock me out of it, this was the week! This episode takes us to Homer, Alaska, as well as the shores of Katmai National Park for one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.
Come along with us as we traverse trail, road, and sky to photograph the coastal bears of Katmai. No matter what, don't miss the last two minutes!
Handy Mandy Links
Things we did and places we visited in this episode:
Skyline Traverse Trail: Kendrick's solo hike with beautiful views.
Seven Lakes Trail: Mandy's hike where she turned around because of "bear-anoia"!
Homer, Alaska: The small town on the Kenai Peninsula
Homer Spit Campground: After calling to compare the prices & amenities at all of the Homer campgrounds, we felt this was the best deal.
Salty Dawg Saloon: The "world famous" saloon plastered with dollar bills!
Alaska Bear Adventures: The company we hired to fly us to Katmai. There are many to choose from but we were very happy with them!
Katmai National Park: One of the most beautiful parks we've ever visited.
